Enzastaurin

Enzastaurin is an inhibitor of several isoforms of protein kinase C, including beta, alpha, gamma and epsilon, with IC50 values of 6, 39, 83 and 110 nM, respectively. Enzastaurin inhibits tumor growth through several mechanisms: block of tumor cell proliferation, induction of tumor cell apoptosis and inhibition of tumor-induced angiogenesis.

Epirubicin

Epirubicin is a semisynthetic derivative of doxorubicin. Its primary mechanisms of action involve intercalation into DNA, inhibition of topoisomerase II activity, the generation of oxygen-based and drug-centered free radicals, and transition metal chelation. Epirubicin is primarily used against breast and ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, and lymphomas.

Erlotinib Hydrochloride

Erlotinib is a low molecular weight, orally active, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (IC50 = 2 nmol/L). Inhibition of the EGFR tyrosine kinase disrupts of processes involved in cancer growth and development, including cell migration, proliferation, angiogenesis, and apoptosis. Erlotinib is used clinically for the treatment of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Estybon

Estybon is a non-ATP-competitive inhibitor of protein kinase Plk1 with an IC50 of 9 nM. It inhibits mitotic progression and induces apoptosis in most cancer cell lines. It is in phase III trials for myelodysplastic syndromes associated with aberrant expression of cyclin D proteins.

Etoposide

Etoposide is an anti-cancer agent used as a drug for Ewing's sarcoma, lung cancer, testicular cancer, lymphoma, non-lymphocytic leukemia, and glioblastoma multiforme. It forms a complex with DNA and topoisomerase II, preventing re-ligation of the DNA strands. This causes errors in DNA synthesis and promotes apoptosis in cancer cells.
